Tricia was soon on her way into the world when Charlene decided to make a pillow top. Even though she started to have labor pains, she kept on knitting. Tricia was destined to be a knitter.
In 2nd grade, she got her own knitting machine for her birthday. She made clothes for herself & lots of Barbie clothes. Tricia loved to knit and hasn't stopped knitting since she was 7. Before she was in 6th grade, she was writing her own patterns. By 7th grade, she had published her 1st pattern book, Bulky Knits. Then she started going to the seminars with her Mom, Charlene Shafer, and she taught classes of her own techniques & patterns.
After college, Tricia moved to New York City where she worked in the fashion industry. She became the head sweater & cut-n-sew knits designer for Geoffrey Beene.
Tricia now lives in Los Angeles. She is working to make Knitters Edge the ultimate machine knitters’ resource.
